Coping With Stress

MANAGING & COPING WITH STRESS

Stress is the body’s natural physical and mental reaction to today’s hectic life. Stress hormones trigger your body’s “fight or flight” response, increasing your heart and breathing rates, constricting your blood vessels, and readying your muscles to respond to a perceived threat. Chronic stress can cause a variety of symptoms which can affect your overall well-being, including (but not limited to):

  • Premature aging
  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Anxiety
  • Fatigue
  • Sleep loss
  • Headaches
  • Depression
  • Weight gain or loss
  • Hair loss

Vibrance Medical Group will soon be offering meditation, breathing, and yoga classes. Classes will be guided by Birgitta Nielsen, a certified yoga instructor who has recently returned from India where she studied Hatha and Yin yoga, meditation, pranayama (breath work) and Chakra balancing.

For many of our patients, a yoga and meditation practice can be the key to stress and anxiety relief and a path to good health. If you haven’t visited Dr. Clair, this would be a perfect opportunity to come visit our office and experience the benefits that Birgitta’s teachings offer.
